Hi, I am Dean Case.
I am completely obsessed with understanding how technology works.
Arthur C Clarke once said:
“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
Well, I want to know how to get behind the technology and figure out how the magic is done. Once I know I want to explain it to the world simply – so everyone has a greater understanding.
I am particularly keen on mobile technology such as Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Apple Watch. Also Android devices.
My story
I’ve been fixing hardware and software issues since the early 2000’s. Firstly with my friend’s computers and smartphones. I was the go-to guy for any broken tech.
It was a surprise to no one when I went on to study Computer Science at UMass.
I got my first iPhone in 2009 – The iPhone 3GS. This gave me in-depth exposure to the Apple ecosystem so I learned a huge amount about iOS and Apple mobile devices.
This led me to get a job at Apple Support in the Boston Store. My experiencing helping users at the Genius Bar allowed me to explain technical issues in simple language.
So as a former Apple employee with extensive experience with the diagnosis and repair of hundreds of Apple products I really can help.
Since then I have helped hundreds of thousands of people on this blog with a variety of issues with mobile Apple tech. Readers were delighted to find solutions they could read, follow, and understand.
