If you have problems with your email on your iPhone AND you use Outlook then the best thing to do is access your email via Safari.

Thank you so much! I had to change my password for my hotmail account on my ipad, but was unable to access my email on my phone with my new password. I forgot my old password that I use to use. I don’t understand why it won’t work on my iphone.

This is not a fix, it is a workaround. i do not want to have to go through Safari every time I want to send/receive emails. i bought my ipad to simplify things, not make life more complicated.

I feel your pain Iain. I assume you have a hotmail, live.com, or office.com email account and you want to use IMAP but can’t? It’s a real pain in the butt. I can only suggest that you try setting up the account using POP3 instead of IMAP. That way you shouldn’t get the error any more but unfortunately you lose some functionality.
